Claims
of wind farm illness - Waubra Disease
It's a powerful news story
from Australia involving noise from the Waubra
wind facility. The developer (Acciona) and government officials quoted are parroting
the same lines we hear everywhere else. This time they sound like
they're lying.

Against
Commercial Wind in the Appalachian Mountains
The
Goal - The
goal of Healthcare Professionals Against Commercial Wind in the
Appalachian Mountains is to address the
health and safety issues of wind turbines identified within
current Canadian, American, European and Australian literature.
We will make every attempt to present information and research
that HAS NOT been funded by the wind industry. We urge
you, in your quest for knowledge about this issue, to
always check to see who funded the research or study. We
encourage you to listen and read about what the people
affected are saying.Web

Preliminary
Findings of a Controlled Study - Mars Hill, Maine Dr.
Swinbanks
Preliminary
findings of a controlled study (Mars Hill, Maine)
being conducted by Dr. Michael Nissenbaum to
investigate potential negative health effects
concludes that adults living within 1100 meters of
industrial wind turbines suffer high incidences of
chronic sleep disturbances and headaches, among
other somatic complaints, and high incidences of
dysphoric psychiatric symptomatology, compared to
a control group living 5000-6000 meters away. This
controlled study is a work in progress.

We
would like to call your attention to the World
Health Organization's 1999 Guidelines For Community Noise,
Specifically, see Chapter 3 regarding the effects that noise
has on human health. Particularly disturbing is the
effect that excessive nighttime noise has on children. Also,
the European Union has done considerable research in the last
decade regarding appropriate nighttime noise levels and the
effects of noise on human physiology, see the Night
Noise Guidelines For Europe.
Citing exhaustive
studies, the European Union notes significant health effects
from outside nighttime noise exceeding 40 dB.
